If connecting via WI-Fi:
How to Set up a USB Provisioning Flash Drive
To set up a wireless or advanced network setup, you’ll need to create a provisioning USB flash drive.
This USB flash drive will help connect the Ridgelogic Portal device to your network. You can use this USB flash drive to provision as many Ridgelogic Portal devices as you like, as long as they are on the same type of connection on the same network. Simply insert the USB flash drive and voila, your device is set up.
Please use the designated USB that is provided for you in the box.
Prior to setting up your device, be sure to locate and accept the portal invitation emailed to you.
If you cannot locate your invite, please contact support@ridgelogic.com
- Unpack your Ridgelogic Device and its accessories.
Besides the Ridgelogic Device device, you will find a Wi-Fi antenna, HDMI cable, 12V-2A power adapter, USB drive, and a 2mm L-shaped Allen wrench.
The Ridgelogic Device supports both wireless and wired connections. If you want to connect your device to a Wi-Fi network, attach the included Wi-Fi antenna.
Connect your Ridgelogic Device to your TV using the provided HDMI cable. Take note of which HDMI port you used and adjust your TV to the corresponding input.
Plug the included 12V-2A (US plug) power adapter into your Ridgelogic Device, and plug the other end into a power outlet.
5. Proceed with Provisioning your USB flash drive
5.1. Insert the provided USB drive into your computer’s USB port.
5.2 Open a web browser to type in or click the following link: https://scos.screencloud.com/config
You will be directed to the Ridgelogic configuration generator website where you’ll provision your USB flash drive.
5.3 Select the “Wi-Fi connection” option.
5.4. Enter your Wi-Fi Network Name (SSID).
Many routers provided by internet services list the default SSID or “Network Name” next to a bar code, usually on the bottom or side of the router.
5.5. Next, you will need to configure your network information. Choose “Basic” for your authentication type.
5.6. Next, enter your Wi-Fi password.
STOP: Check to ensure that you are entering the correct password by looking at your router, or verifying it with your IT staff. The password is case sensitive and must be absolutely correct for your device to connect.
If your password is incorrect when you provision the device, you will then need to use a keyboard to factory reset your Ridgelogic Device before beginning the provisioning process again at Step 1.
Tip: To make sure the password is correct, type it into a notepad document first to review it for accuracy, and then copy and paste it into the password field on the provisioning page.
5.7. Select your Time Zone.
This step is crucial as your time zone will determine whether or not your scheduled content will be synchronized and ensure the proper configuration of your apps.
5.8. After you’ve completed filling in your network information, click the “Generate Configuration” button at the bottom of the page to create your configuration file.
5.9. Once the file is downloaded, transfer it to your empty USB flash drive and then eject it.
Please note: the file copied to the USB flash drive must be named scosprov.json. If you download numerous copies, such as scosprov(1).json, please be sure to remove the numbers as your RidgeLogic Device will not recognize the file.
If you’re using a firewall, please refer to our whitelisting instructions page for instructions on whitelisting the domains necessary for the Ridgelogic Device to function.
- Insert your USB drive into the Blue Port on your Ridgelogic Device. The provisioning process will automatically begin configuring your network settings and checking for firmware updates. If an update is available, it will be downloaded and applied automatically. This process typically takes a few minutes.
- Once the pairing code appears, you can start pairing your new screen with your Ridgelogic Portal account.
Please follow Part 2 of the setup to connect your device to the Ridgelogic Portal and start editing your own content.
